Obviously, they haven't paused to consider why exactly there are no fishermen left and have hence missed the complete irony of their pro-European position.
That is of course the fact that their intention to vote to stay in the E.E.C. is a vote to remain in the very same, warped political project which took away our fishing rights in the first place.
Inevitably, in the process our native fishing fleets like the one at Shetland were decimated.
How ironic is that?
They note the decline of the fishing industry which with good reason opposed the E.E.C. in the first place, yet by failing to understand or even recognize the E.E.C. as the singular, complete reason for and absolute cause of it, intend to vote to remain in the very organization through which its' demise was effected.
Talk about can't see the wood for trees.
