Someone gets shot, ban guns. Someone gets stabbed, ban knives. People smoke, ban advertising.
Why does everyone want to turn to the law in order to ban something, just because they don’t necessarily like or agree with it.
If I attacked people with a cricket bat, would we ban cricket bats?
But wait for it, this is the best one….. Models (I.E. female fashion type) are too thin, say the Gaurdianista.
So guess what…. Oh, you did.
What’s that all about?
I know in some respects we live in a Police state, but last time I checked it was still a (relatively) free country and if someone wants to be thin, then that’s up to them.
And if someone wants to hire them to model their clothes, then that’s up to them.
The argument from the liberal P.C. brigade goes something like this.
Apparently, we need more, larger models on catwalks, so that there are sufficient ‘Role models’ (no pun intended and hate that phrase anyway) for young people.
One female guest on a T.V. chat show said seeing so many thin people made other people want to be like them.
Well, where exactly is the logic in putting fat people on the catwalk then?
I mean, by the same token wont seeing fat people on the catwalk merely want people to be just like them, fat?
Of course, all of that assumes people are actually daft enough to want to emulate other people, just because they see them.
It just exposes the nonsensical argument of these dimwits and that there is no logic or truth that seeing thin people makes you want to be thin, or vice versa.
Why does anyone need a so called ‘role model’ (Ugh) anyway?
Hasn’t anyone got a brain of their own these days?
Like my dad used to say. So what.
If they jumped off a bridge, would you?
