They have got to charge it under 'European Law'. No choice. The E.E.C. have decided that and we have to obey.
The government made out that by agreeing to reduce the tax to 5% was some sort of victory for democracy, but in actual fact it's simply the minimum allowed by Brussels to be charged.
How kind of them.
I've no doubt that the same P.C. liberal types that support the E.E.C. also support the 'equality' brigade and yet, no doubt, these very same people will be the ones shouting the loudest about the injustice of it all.
For all their defence of their beloved 'E.U.' this slap in the face of common sense is an embarrassment they can't defend.
Subsequently, like the elite in power, they just don't mention the fact it's a diktat from Europe and merely maintain the charade of 'campaigning' without reference to this fact.
Any pro-European lady should read it and weep.
The E.E.C. has made a 'law' that we have to obey which says V.A.T. must be charged on sanitary products.
Presumably then, because they're a luxury.
How do you square that circle with your defence of your beloved 'E.U. and all it stands for then.
