He says it's generous, indeed right for them to be concerned about humanitarian welfare and in essence, we should all do the same.
Very gracious of him to say so.
Few would disagree with those sentiments.
Except, that's easy for him to say.
Because he just happens to be a multi-millionaire.
He has a home in California and Italy which he no doubt splits his time between, so he's never going to live next door to these people.
Or indeed, neither is he going to have to pay for them.
He's seemingly quite at ease to let the burden fall on to the common working, poor old German taxpayer.
Or any other taxpayer whose government decides unilaterally to shoulder the financial burden.
These liberal luvvies are very good at grandstanding.
All this tugging on the heartstrings and emotions of people at no personal cost; bolstering and elevating their saint like image and no doubt, massaging their own ego.
There's no such thing, as bad publicity.
No end of them appear on T.V. or do interviews, keen to demonstrating their endless compassion, bleating on about the need to let every Tom, Dick and Harry in to Europe and more specifically, Britain.
Yet there is a common thread that links them all.
They are all wealthy and they all live in plush houses, doubtless in expensive postcodes.
None of them are actually ever going to have to even meet these illegal immigrants and 'refugees' of course, let alone ever live anywhere near them.
I'd like to bet these are the first to complain to the council if a neighbour so much as paints the front door of their house a colour they don't think befits the area.
You never see any of them putting their hands in their own pockets and offering to pay for all of this either, yet they've got more than enough to do so. (See Blog, Illegal immigrants 26/10/15)
The epic level of this sanctimonious preaching, emanating from the liberal elite, runs parallel to and is equalled only by the accompanied apparent lack of patronage.
Even Yvette Cooper got in on the act, but at least she did actually offer to put up some immigrants in one of her own houses though.
Can't accuse her of a lack of benevolence then.
I wonder if she's taken any in yet.
What do you think?
