The E.E.C. has been centralizing decisions and law making to Brussels for years.
Indeed, that’s their whole reasoning and objective
British governments have (hypocritically) spent years devolving power to Wales and Scotland, yet at the same time been submersing us all in to that central, unified and illegitimate control.
Bit by bit, slice by slice, powers to control and make law in our own country have been given away over the years, piecemeal, so no one would notice.
They had to do that, otherwise people would have objected and put a stop to it.
I mean imagine if the government had just announced in a single day that everything from weights and measures, road traffic legislation, health and safety issues, pollution controls, waste, emissions and a plethora of other matters were all going to be decided and implemented by a bunch of foreigners in Brussels; you’d think they’d gone mad.
Of course, the powers that be have always denied this and have spent years telling us that no powers have been given away.
They’ve been quite vociferous in denying it, mockingly laughing at people who dare suggest otherwise.
Well then, how strange it is that they are now all saying that powers need to be repatriated and talk about local decision making.
Strange indeed, as these are the very people that have collectively given those powers away and then spent the last 20 years or so pretending they hadn’t.
Britain’s law originates from common law developed and challenged over hundreds of years, fashioned and determined by our own culture.
Yet great swathes of it is now cultivated in Europe by an irrelevant, disconnected elite with no cultural link, understanding or interest in Britain.
Decision and law making over so many areas in this country has systematically been given away over the years, to the point where one could reasonably begin to argue sovereignty is almost an academic concept.
All the directives that churn out of there as ‘European Law’, I.E. for Europe wide implementation and enforcement.
Everything from the ridiculous to the sublime is covered.
And yes they do have rules about how to define fruit and what can be called ‘local’ and a myriad of ridiculous, unnecessary legislation and rules.
Where do you think most of this nonsense about waste, carbon emissions and health and safety gone mad comes from?
They’ve recently made it illegal to sell vacuum cleaners over a certain power level.
Say no more.
